Review: Stealing Parker by Miranda Kenneally
Stealing Parker by Miranda Kenneally

Parker Shelton pretty much has the perfect life. She’s on her way to becoming valedictorian at Hundred Oaks High, she’s made the all-star softball team, and she has plenty of friends. Then her mother’s scandal rocks their small town and suddenly no one will talk to her.
Now Parker wants a new life.
So she quits softball. Drops twenty pounds. And she figures why kiss one guy when she can kiss three? Or four. Why limit herself to high school boys when the majorly cute new baseball coach seems especially flirty?
But how far is too far before she loses herself completely?
Is there even a way to express my undying love for Miranda? She knows exactly how to get into a teen’s mind and create a magical story set in the real world. Her boys are hotter than hot, yet unique from the stereotypical YA bad boy. While there’s nothing wrong with the bad boys, I like to see a realistic guy every once in a while. STEALING PARKER way exceeded my expectations in all of those departments and left me wanting more of anything written by Miranda Kenneally. Run, don’t walk, to the nearest bookstore when STEALING PARKER hits shelves!!
Parker is the perfect blend of sassy and sweet. She can definitely handle herself in a room full of boys, but she still has a vulnerable side when it comes to them. Her mom’s coming out and subsequent “abandonment” in her eyes has left her shattered in pieces and she wishes she could put them together again. My heart went out to all that Parker went through in her story. She has some very tough challenges to endure and lessons to learn that I do not envy. Well okay, maybe I do envy her for her love story. By the end I felt sated with my dose of Miranda and so glad that Parker finally figured it out!
Of course if you’ve read CATCHING JORDAN, you know to expect a lot of hot guys! STEALING PARKER is no exception to that. Sam Henry is back in a few silly doses and readers get to meet Drew, Corndog (Will), and Brian. Miranda has not made a single guy that I haven’t fallen in love with and I don’t think she will ever be able to. If I’m being honest, I’d like to have them all. I’m sure Jordan and Parker won’t mind me stealing their guys!
If you haven’t read CATCHING JORDAN yet and/or don’t plan on reading STEALING PARKER, I am in utter shock. Miranda Keneally is one of the best contemporary authors in the YA genre and her books will have me in a puddle of love every time I read them.
