SHADOWS Many are afraid of Ana’s presence, a constant reminder of unstoppable changes and the unknown. When sylph begin behaving differently toward her and people turn violent, Ana must learn to stand up not only for herself but for those who cannot stand up for themselves.
LOVE Ana was told that nosouls can’t love. But newsouls? More than anything, she wants to live and love as an equal among the citizens of Heart, but even when Sam professes his deepest feelings, it seems impossible to overcome a lifetime of rejection.
In this second book in the Incarnate trilogy, Ana discovers the truth about reincarnation and will have to find a way to embrace love and make her young life meaningful. Once again, Jodi Meadows explores the extraordinary beauty and shadowed depths of the soul in a story equal parts epic romance and captivating fantasy.
ASUNDER brings the heat in this exciting follow-up to INCARNATE. Jodi Meadows lyrical way with words will enchant readers once again and make them fall even more in love with this special story. I did not think I could love the sequel even more than the first book, but that is not the case in this instance. ASUNDER brings the action, drama, and romance up a notch from INCARNATE and is sure to leave readers panting for more.
Ana is one of my favorite heroines. She’s just so extremely honest with herself and the reader that you can’t help but relate to her. Her way with music is awe-inspiring. It just makes her connection to her love interest Sam that much more intense. Her vulnerability pulls at my heart and I feel for her with the way many of the citizens of Heart shun her. She has proved her loyalty to these people, yet they continue to find ways to make others doubt her. She learns a whole lot about the many secrets Heart holds in ASUNDER and in turn grows much more confident in herself.
Sam. I adore Sam. I also love the aching feelings that he and Ana have developing between them. They are one intense couple that is definitely not without its insecurities and challenges, especially with Ana being a newsoul. I have so much invested just as a reader in their relationship that I cannot help but hope for a happy future for them both. But with certain things that come out in ASUNDER, I will admit that I am scared about what is to come for them. This is not an easy love story in the least.
I cannot tell you how many secrets are finally revealed in this one that readers have been pining for since the beginning of INCARNATE. We learn more about the mysterious Janan and why the souls of Heart are reincarnated. The truth about newsouls and Janan is so shocking that I couldn’t help but gasp out loud. Meadows definitely knows how to tell a story that is unpredictable and horrible yet beautiful at the same time.
Please read this book ASAP when it comes out! I need more people to talk with about EVERYTHING that goes down in ASUNDER. Readers are going to devour this one so fast!
