Synopsis:

Nikki Beckett could only watch as her boyfriend, Jack, sacrificed himself to save her, taking her place in the Tunnels of the Everneath for eternity — a debt that should’ve been hers. She’s living a borrowed life, and she doesn’t know what to do with the guilt. And every night Jack appears in her dreams, lost and confused and wasting away.

Desperate for answers, Nikki turns to Cole, the immortal bad boy who wants to make her his queen — and the one person least likely to help. But his heart has been touched by everything about Nikki, and he agrees to assist her in the only way he can: by taking her to the Everneath himself.

Nikki and Cole descend into the Everneath, only to discover that their journey will be more difficult than they’d anticipated — and more deadly. But Nikki vows to stop at nothing to save Jack — even if it means making an incredible sacrifice of her own.

In this enthralling sequel to Everneath, Brodi Ashton tests the bonds of destiny and explores the lengths we’ll go to for the ones we love.

My Review:

EVERBOUND is one of those emotional roller coaster sequels that will have you crying happy tears one moment, and the next sobbing at how cruel the world is. The authors are bringing it full-force with their sequels this year, and Brodi Ashton is no exception. EVERBOUND is special in that I think I loved it even more than EVERNEATH. Readers will get a better glimpse of Cole’s softer side and be let into the dark secrets that the Everneath holds. Please run to the bookstore and buy EVERBOUND right away when it releases. I need a support group after everything that goes down in this one! In a good way. I think…

Nikki is back and more determined than ever in EVERBOUND. With the love of her life Jack sacrificing himself to the Tunnels to save her, she will do anything she can to get him back, no matter the cost to herself. Nikki is one of my favorite main character’s to read about. Her life is not easy at all, yet she has this hidden inner strength and loyalty that draws me in. Her interactions with Cole are intriguing and very complicated, making for an even more fascinating read. You do not want to mess with Nikki, let me tell you. She is not a good enemy to have!

Cole…what to say about Cole. I couldn’t help but feel for him after all that happened with Nikki and Jack. Sure, he isn’t that great of a guy himself, at least at the start of EVERNEATH, but he still seemed to prove his devotion to Nikki after all they went through. There are many layers to Cole and EVERBOUND peels back the surface ones to reveal Cole’s softer side. It’s easy (maybe too easy) to fall for Cole’s seemingly reformed self. With Jack stuck in the Tunnels, he and Nikki spend a lot of time together, and I really started to fall for Cole. I’m anxious to see where the next book will take him!

The plot thickens in EVERBOUND and things are definitely not what they appear to be. Ashton pulls readers in so many different directions that readers emotions will start going all over the place. There is much more action in EVERBOUND as Cole and Nikki race against time to save Jack from the Tunnels. Ashton reveals more about the Queen of Everneath and just how terrifying it would be for a human to be stuck there. Even though I love the world that Ashton has created, I do not want to go there at all in real life!

Fans of EVERNEATH are going to adore everything about EVERBOUND. Well, maybe except for the cliffhanger ending. While they drive me crazy at times, this one makes me that much more anxious for book 3! Once you’ve read EVERBOUND in its entirety, you’ll understand just why I am in need of a support group. icon wink Review: Everbound by Brodi Ashton Can I have more Cole, Jack, and Nikki please?

Review: Everbound by Brodi AshtonAbout the author:

Because of two parents who were Greek myth geeks, I grew up thinking the latest fashion trends were inspired by Aphrodite, and a good conversational opener was, “So, which mythological character do you most resemble?” Despite these social shortcomings, I found a great husband who’s always my first reader. We live in Utah with our two young boys, who still have no idea why I’m at the computer all the time.

  1. Awesome! I so can’t wait to read this. I’m glad it’s living up to expectations and it sounds like I’ll love everything in it.

Thanks for the chance to win!

  2. By the end of the first novel, I actually had some sympathy for Cole. He’s had a long, rough life and he’d finally found a way out…except it was ruined by Nikki and Jack (darned them for not wanting that horrible life!). Love that Everbound keeps up the fabulosity!

  3. I’m so excited to read this one – UPS says it will be delivered to my house by noon. :) But I am already dreading the cliffhanger ending. They just KILL me. It’s such a long wait to the final book next year.

Great review, Bailey! I had a feeling this book would make me fall a bit for Cole (even though I LOVE Jack). It’s good that he’s being humanized.

  4. Great review hon!! My review goes up on Thursday. I really was starting to feel bad for Cole, a little, but I still don’t like him. And after that ending OMG I need the next book now!!!

  5. I agree, this sequel is better than the first book! I just loved everything about it. The emotional rollercoaster, learning more about Cole, and of course Jack! And omg that ending! I need the next book! Great review! :)

  6. YES! I loved this book so much Bailey! I adored the first one too, but I think I liked this second one even better. I loved the time we got to spend with Cole, but was also thoroughly impressed by how present Jack was throughout despite his physical absence. She managed to progress two very different relationships at the same time and I loved every second of it. And the end? Color me impressed. I did not anticipate that:)

  8. I LOVED Everneath so I’m pretty excited about Everbound asap. Thanks for your great review and awesome giveaway <3

  9. I’m anxious to start reading this series! Thanks for the chance to win this one:) I keep hearing how great it is and am trying to avoid that cliffhanger ending on the first one and read them together!

  10. Oh! I love emotional roller coaster books. This sounds great and I can’t wait to start this series.
    Happy reading,

  14. Very nice review about the characters.

  15. Interesting. Cole’s actually being a nice guy huh? But falling for him? PLEASE! TEAM JACK ALL THE WAY!

  16. I still have to read Everneath, I have a copy of my shelf but I heard it ends on a cliffhanger so I’m waiting for Everbound to come out ^^ Glad you enjoyed it!
